"Muskegon Lake is awesome if you know where to go. Most of my bass are keeper size (14") all the way up to 22". I catch catfish between 28" to 34". The walleye are also very nice sized, and the best I took from the lake was 30" & weighed 10 pounds. Pike above 40" can be caught too. There are 3 spots that I recommend fishing at Muskegon Lake open to the public and where you don't need a boat. First, the channel between Muskegon Lake and Lake Michigan is a great place to go. It is especially good for Walleye, Pike, Catfish, & Trout. The channel is dredged to 20' deep (so bring deep lures, or put live bait on a jig that will make it to the bottom). Second, there is Fisherman's Landing which you can get to from Business 31. This is a little easier fishing then the channel and has a fishing dock which is convenient. Go to this spot for panfish, largemouth, smallmouth, a few walleye, & pike. Catch them on mid depth lures or livebait. Third, there is a park off Shoreline Drive which is nice because the fishing is good with a variety of lures, and it had Panfish, Largemouth & Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, & Pike."
