Most Mount Ayr district lakes have variable ice conditions ranging from 8 to 12 inches. There is a lot of slush/water on top of the ice due to the warm weather this week. Use caution and check ice thickness often.

8-12 inches of ice off the boat ramp. However, there are areas of thin ice near the HWY 25 bridge.

Bluegill - Slow: Try using jigs tipped with a waxworm fished near deep cedar tree brushpiles for Bluegill up to 8 inches.

Most Mount Ayr district lakes have variable ice conditions ranging from 4 to 8 inches. Some lakes had areas of open water earlier in the week. Additionally, heavy snow cover on some areas of the lakes will affect ice thickness. If you decide to go fishing, use extreme caution and check ice thickness often. Limited ice fishing activity observed this week.

10 inches of ice off the boat ramp. However, there are areas of thin ice near the HWY 25 bridge. No report on fishing.
