Water temperatures in most Mount Ayr district lakes are in the upper 50's to low 60's.

Black Crappie - Fair: Use small jigs tipped with a minnow or twistertails fished near cedar tree brushpiles for Crappie of all sizes.

Dock is in at the main boat ramp.

Black Crappie - Fair: Use small jigs tipped with a minnow fished near deep cedar tree brushpiles or along the creek channel in the flooded timber.

Dock is in at the main boat ramp.

Channel Catfish - Slow: Try using cutbait fished along windblown shorelines for Channel Catfish up to 25 inches.

Most Mount Ayr district lakes have variable ice conditions ranging from 2 to 9 inches. Ice conditions are deteriorating due to rain last week and unseasonably warm weather. Shoreline areas are starting to open at some lakes.

9 inches of ice off the Paul Vaughn boat ramp.

Black Crappie - Slow: Try using jigs tipped with a waxworm or minnows fished near deep cedar tree brushpiles for Crappie up to 10 inches.

Bluegill - Slow: Try using jigs tipped with a waxworm fished near deep cedar tree brushpiles for Bluegill up to 8.5 inches.

Most Mount Ayr district lakes have variable ice conditions ranging from 8 to 12 inches. There is a lot of slush/water on top of the ice due to the warm weather this week. Use caution and check ice thickness often.

8-10 inches of ice off the Paul Vaughn boat ramp.

Bluegill - Slow: Try using jigs tipped with a waxworm fished near deep cedar tree brushpiles for Bluegill up to 8.5 inches.

Black Crappie - Slow: Try using jigs tipped with a waxworm or minnows fished near deep cedar tree brushpiles for Crappie up to 10 inches.
