My dad and i started the morning at heritage pond. They were stocking 1200 trout at ten oclock Saturday morning. Rick and Tanner from the Baitshack had poles and bait for anyone who needed them and some hot chocolate too. There wass a lot of anticipation as they started dumping the fish along tje banks. Trout were eating on the bugs that were abundant in this new environment. Dad caught a.rainbow on a Panther Martin spinner amd i had one on a crawler but the bite ended quickly so we headed to Bankston to try our luck. Evidently the same trout truck had stopped there that morning and the stream was full of trout. We drifted a crawler under a bobber and caught trout. For 2 hours having a blast. Get out and enjoy the unannounced trout stockings. Big Smile

Caught a limit wed. Using nightcrawler on a 1/16 white jig head. Watched a guy catcg a couple on a plain panther martin spinner. Nice size fish with lots of color. Water had a little color to it which helped the fishing.

Got out last week to Swiss Valley and found the water in great shape. No ice to worry about and a little color to the water that made the fish a little less spooky. Got 3 fish from the "Big Rock" pool and a few more from under trees down river. I used a Bimbo Skunk jig tipped with a waxworm and found the fish to be aggressive. I threw a panther Martin without a strike. Beautiful quite time on the water with some action to boot. Still plenty of fish in some hard to reach places. Kept three for supper. Pan fried they were delicious. Smile

My Dad and I started our weekend off last Friday meeting on the the trout stream. He got to the Swiss Valley Nature Center at around 1 pm and I left work around 3 to join him on the stream. We had made plans that he would start at the Nature Center and work his way upstream and I would park at the North Access and we would meet up somewhere on the stream. On my way to the access my Dad called and said there were so many fish near the Nature center he wasn't walking anywhere so I still parked at the upper access and crossed the horse pasture to the stream. I caught a few fish in every hole I stopped at. I was drifting corn on a lead head through the deepest holes with good success. Within the hour Dad called and was heading to his car parked at the Nature center and he had kept 5 nice troutand was ready to go. I high tailed it down the trail to the Nature Center and found him enjoying a soda from the machine there and a big smile on his face. He had caught enough trout to satisfy himself and was ready to cook them up for supper. He had his luck with a Panther Martin spinner and a small jig.(See Pic)What a great day and a perfect start to a great weekend with Dad. Stockings will continue through the month weather permitting so don't give up yet. Wink
