Lake-Link Messenger

What Is Messenger?

Lake-Link Messenger was created to provide a simple tool for fellow Lake-Link Users to communicate with each other. It is based on a similar concept as email but with one major difference: no email addresses are exchanged. To utilize Lake-Link Messenger you first must have a Lake-Link account. (Click here to register). Once registered, you will be able to communicate with other Lake-Link Users that have messenger enabled. Other users will not have your email address and you won't have theirs. When you log onto Lake-Link you will be notified by a flashing icon (see notification example below) at the right of every page if you have new messages waiting for you. Reading and sending messages is just as easy, or even easier, than using email!

How Do I use Lake-Link Messenger?

There are two ways to use Lake-Link Messenger:
  1. Message Boards (Fishing Report Board, Outdoor Message Board & Hunting Board)
When viewing the reports or postings you will see the "Handle" or "Nick Name" of the people who have made the postings. If the person who made a particular posting chose to be a part of Lake-Link Messenger, there will be a link on their post called "Send xxxx A Message". Just click on that link and you will be taken right into Lake-Link Messenger and you can send your message just like you would an email.

  2. Lake-Link Messenger section on site
There is a link on the top menu bar called "Messenger". Click on it and you will be taken to the Lake-Link messenger section of the site. There you will be able to read and manage your messages.
By using Lake-Link Messenger you must abide by the Messenger Use Policy. Any incidents of abuse will lead to termination of the Lake-Link account..

Have fun and good fishing!
