History & Status of the Fishery
The Division of Fisheries entered into a formal Cooperative Management Agreement with the City of Jacksonville in 1984 to manage the sport fishery. Due to the poor sportfishery, the lake was completely drained, rehabilitated and restocked in 1986. This project produced one of the best largemouth bass populations in the state.

This is an amazing lake if you like fishing brush and down timber. Jacksonville has anything that an angler could ask for from docks to pads to like I said timber and brush. I was there in early September and caught a ton of fish. If you didn't know the size of the lake you would think that it was 4 times the size with a the cuts and coves it fishes alot larger. I recommed this lake to anyone and everyone.
