History & Status of the Fishery
The IDNR currently stocks walleye, smallmouth bass and hybrid striped bass. A community-wide fish survey is completed approximately every two years and hybrid striped bass, largemouth/smallmouth bass and walleye surveys are currently conducted on an annual basis.

I've only been on the lake 2 times and yesterday we pulled in 20 crappie's all pretty good size and even caught 2 bass. Beautiful lake with good size pan fish..... keep your depth finder handy

Lake Bloomington is a great lake because they have a good number of walleye, bass, and crappie. You can also catch nice sized stripers. The limit for crappie is 25 with no length limit. A 40hp limit keeps some of the bigger boats off the lake so that the waves are usually small with areas where there is a no-wake speed for the fishermen.
