History & Status of the Fishery
Occasional fish surveys are conducted to evaluate stocking success and changes in the fishery. Herbicides are occasionally applied in high-use areas to maintain recreational boat access because the shoreline is generally shallow and Eurasian watermilfoil is present in the system.
Diamond Lake receives annual stockings of 8? to 10? Channel Catfish, 10? Northern Pike, and occasional stockings of 12? muskie (beginning in 2013). We collected 13 species in this mid-sized glacial lake. Additional fish species include: northern pike, muskie, common carp, pumpkinseed sunfish, golden shiners, yellow perch, green sunfish, yellow bass and gizzard shad.

Bass had been very active lately, flooding has slowed everything down.

Actually the lake is up to 23 ft deep, most of the water you can fish from the parks is very shallow. Good crappie and bass in the spring.
