Bangs Lake

Fished Wednesday late afternoon off of LVVA beach. Edges are getting bad. Middle Ice was dark but still around 6”. Caught a few gills and 1 crappie. This is looking like a short season if weather doesn’t turn cold soon.

According to their Facebook page the tourney is still on.

Ice is a good 7 inches in the northeast basin but lots of water on top.

Does anyone know if the tournament this weekend is still on? I was going to check conditions tomorrow and will report back unless someone can confirm the ice isn’t fishable. Thanks in advance!

Got out Saturday,  about 9 to 10 inches off LVVA Beach. I was in 19 ft of water. Couple small crappies and perch, biggest perch being 9.5. One flag, 31 inch pike. Stay safe

I wouldn't be surprised about 5" yet those who take out ATV on 5" of ice are looking for trouble, 5" does not mean 5" entire lake needless to say 5" is about a minimalistic approach on ATV I don't care what DNR says about the weight capacity. Stay safe folks.

Don't take my word as I have not verified myself but there was a post on Facebook that there is 5 inches and someone out on an ATV already. There is actually a pic of someone fishing too.I'll wait till Friday night though

Thats why I am shooting to get out this weekend before the warm up. Idk , check for yourselves ,but I bet bangs has enough ice safe for foot travel even now. Lake Zurich froze few days ago , with these temps I bet there at least 4-5" now, I saw someone fishing already this morning on a deep end. I know not all lakes freeze the same ,but this is some extreme temps we have not had for a while.

Not liking this rain in the forecast next week!!!! 

Lundman!! Not yet, but this time of year is always exciting on Lake Links. Hoping to get out this weekend. People were out on Lily Lake today in Lakemoor, though.  Bangs can't be safe yet. Should be a few inches by Saturday I'd hope
