If I were more of an expert fisherman I would rate this lake a 5. We fished the lake for about 5 straight days. There is a limit on the keepers, you are only allowed 1 lg mouth bass, 1 sm mouth bass, 1 walleye, 1 muskie, 3 catfish, 10 crappie & unlimited bluegill per day. The bluegill were bigger than hand size. We caught most of the fish towards the north end of the lake near the coves of Blue-Gray & Big Spirit. We caught some catfish in the two coves directly to the right of the Marina & restaurant. Bass were all over the place. We used primarily red words for the crappie & bluegill & leeches for the Bass. I caught a nice size bass next to the dock by the beach area. I highly recommend the lake/area for a family outing. For rental properties, lookup Lakeside Reality in Apple River, Il
