MOON PHASE (90%)
Waxing Gibbous

What a beautiful day to go fishing! I was out from 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm below the dam today. There were 4 boats on the river and about 4 other bank fisherman up and down the river. The water is super low right now. I didn't see anyone else catching anything and I didn't get a bite at all. But you know what they say,  the worst day of fishing is better than the best day of work! Tight lines!

leaddog721 You can also fish from shore and fishing piers at the Chain O Lakes State Park which is just north west of grass lake on the Fox River. This part of the river is undeveloped and has a lot of marshland.

I have never fished the Fox river so I am very unfamiliar with the area and am a shore bound angler. Is moraine hills state park the only public shore access? And does anyone know the hours? I would make a trip and stay after dark if thats allowed so I wouldn't have to wait for the weekend. Thanks

I'm going to try launch down by 176 on Friday and motor up to the dam, I'm sure the locks are wide open as the water is dropping fast up here on the chain. It'd be nice to pluck a couple eyes for a friday night fish fry...

Thanks.  I've fished Burlington dam kind of shallow right now.

Mchenry Dam is south of 120 on South River road, there is another one down in Algonquin, 31 and Algonquin road. The next nearest one in Wisconsin on the Fox is up in Burlington.

Yes thanks I know of the McHenry dam. Just looking for any fishable spillways or dams up north by lake Catherine and channel. Or even into southern Wisconsin
