Went to Lake Sara on fri fished fri. sat. sun. Caught 9 fish total over 3 days 2 of them were legal size. No fish were weighed in at tournament sunday. Water was muddy in some places and stained in others. All the heavy rains may have the fishing out of wack. Looks like a decent lake but I have no plans to return any time soon. Saw other anglers catching crappie on minnows and all were 4to 9 inch size. Puke

No report, just a question. Do they rent boats with motors at this place? Thanks.

Yes, that is what I have heard. I have not fished them in the fall but October I have heard is a good month. Contact Bobbi at Anthony Acres resort on the lake and she can give you better info on the Fall. Nice people if you need a place to stay.

The crappie population is good and size is good, 3+ lber caught earlier this year. The problem I have had is that they are fairly easy to find in spring but seem to disappear after that. Bluegill are a different story. You can find them year round,on almost any bank.

Awesome 4 days of some good fishing! Got down to Effingham on Thursday and started to get ready for the F.O.C.A.S. 2 day tourney over the weekend. Very sunny and hot Thursday. Started about 9, and had our limit by 2pm. Friday, we had a limit also. I threw a tube, partner threw twin tail grub. Both were made by Chompers. Watermelon red was the go to color. My partner and I got 18 lbs. on Sat., Today(rainy) we got 21 lbs. We took 4th place(trophy time)! Both days we started by the dam, then ran down by the bridge. This year was a much different lake. The scum was almost all gone. We were fishing in water that we would of never had gotten to in last couple of years. The drought last year must of had an effect on the weeds.
