Only place around that has safe ice. I didn't catch many but did manage 6. 2 crappie, 2 bluegill and 2 perch. Ice was thick and clear. Fishing was slow. Caught most on a chartreuse CJ&S Ja-Je jig.

Late report from Saturday. Fished 2-6 p.m., absolutely beautiful day to be out! First time out here, started along west end of south shore, looking for the 20'-25' hole/ flooded timber. Drilled over 45 holes, working east. Finally found some decent gill acton in one, then drilled 9 more in a 10' radius. ALL fish came from the one hole, well over 100 gills in less than 2 hours. Most 6 1/2 - 7 1/2, about a dozen 7 1/2 - 8, so nothing huge, but fun action. No crappies, but I think one of the groups at the shallow west end was finding some perch. Waxies and small jig worked best for me, no luck on minnows. Good luck and tight lines!

Didn't have much luck yesterday. Moved a few times and marked some fish. My son caught about 3 bluegills. Nothing to keep. I've was a fire 9 inches thick and clear. I guess all the warm weather we had last week helped make better ice. Got tired of setting up the hub and setting anchors down. Setting up the hub isn't bad. Just getting the anchors in wore me out. And they are the Eskimo anchors. I'm looking for a 2 man flip over.

I didn't fish. But I went little to the lake to check on the ice. Drilled a few holes and all were about 6 inches. But the top layer was white ice. There was one shanty on the ice.
