Went out around 8am Friday morning looking for stripped bass. I'm a novice when it comes to strippers and it showed!!! I got skunked, worked crankbaits including rapalas and rat l traps. I'll be grabbing a feww deep diving cranks for my next try. Any suggestions on brands sizes or depths? Thanks a lot guys hope I could give some help myself!!!
MOON PHASE (7%)
Fished Wednesday 4/26 from 9:30-2:00. Caught 12 crappie, kept 10. 1 was too small and 1 was 11" female full of eggs. The rest were males and what I thought were spawned out females until I cleaned them. All the females still had eggs. Used red headed roadrunners with white twister tails and also chartreuse twister tails. Also caught my first Northern pike ever fishing at Lake Bloomington. It measured 23" and was released.
I like to troll around the fishing docks with roadrunners and crappie nibbles. Check out my posts, it will give you an idea of what colors and depth, however I usually don't get out until it gets a little warmer, so they may be a little deeper. Good luck!
Hello everyone, this spring will be my first one down in the Bloomington /normal area. In town for a few weeks of work. Avid crappie, and walleye fisherman just looking for a few tips. Not spots, or coordinates! If anyone has any input or direction to point me in that would be well appreciated. Thank you. (PS.) I'm staying on the lake itself.
