Got out for about an hour late last week. Not much going on yet, but I did get a 25 inch pike. I'll take that any day.if anyone is willing to share a couple of decent spots to fish from shore I would much appreciate it. I would love to just spend a few days exploring and looking for spots, but between work and family I just don't have the time lately. I'm very respectful, and I'm strictly a catch, take a picture, and release fisherman. Spots don't need to be easy to get to...my favorite spot involves a twenty minute hike through completely overgrown woods Lol. BTW the pike was caught near distillery rd on a spinnerbait.

I fished around the Blackhawk Rd area. Was using a soft plastic shad spinner in a green/brown color. I didn't have any bites. I think I am going to start using a crawfish colored jig with a soft crawfish claw. I am new to fishing the kish. I think I will try the Newburg Rd area next. Anybody know any Kishwauki river fishing guides? I am going to keep trying, but I am really not sure what areas of the Kish are most productive typically. I don't mind wading, but the area around Blackhawk Rd looks pretty deep/swift to wade easilly. I hear about wade fishing the Kish, but I am not sure what areas that is common. I also fished the Baumann park area for a couple hours without a bite. I moved up to the area from down south were smallmouth bass were not available. I would like to catch some smallmouth bass and others too. I typically don't keep any fish. I just like to catch and take a pic and release. Good luck everyone!

Stopped by the Kish on the way to grocery store, first and third cast! Always hard to tell from the camera, but the first fish pictured was in the 2.5-3lb range. Water is crystal clear and not to high or low. It's closed season for smallies, so a quick photo and both fish returned to the water in great shape. Enjoy the wonderful weekend weather!

The kish is a super easy river to fish. You can catch fish in just about any area, but if you want concentrations, all you have to do is fish areas with rock and you'll be successful.

Not sure about the Kish in Winnebago county, but the kish in Dekalb, you could do good, but you gotta keep walking, not standing at one spot. Caught northern, small mouth & chub in there.

I am new to the area and would like to catch some smallmouth on the Kish. Any advice on good places to start? I plan on getting waders. Looking for good bridges or park areas to start fishing from where I can be successful and that are not over fished. Thank you!
