Went out today and caught a few walleys over where the backwater comes into the main river by the old RR bridge. Nothing legal, all were caught on 1/4 jig and twister tail.

Not a fishing report - I have heard reports that walleyes can be caught between I-55 bridge to Dresden Dam in February/March by casting floating rapalas & stick baits up into shallow water. Any truth to this and has anyone had any success and tips they could share?

Was trying for some walleye but the river is very low in the spot I frequent, and clear 34* temp ending up with this cat so all was not lost.. Does anyone use this site anymore cause there isn't much for new reports.

It was a nice day to be on the river this past Saturday.. River is wadable, dropping, and starting to clear. Water temps are around 53 degrees. I caught a couple of smallies and rock bass on fat albert grubs. I figure the bass will really take off within the next week or so.

Great point Hawkguy, I fish Lake Bloomington, Evergreen Lake and Dawson here in McLean county alot of times when i am done fishing I will beach the Lund and pick up trash left by the fisherman that are to lazy to pick up ther worm containers, soda, water bottles and beer cans .Some folks just dont care about the enviroment or water quality. On the good side of it The boys scouts and some of the local fishing clubs will set aside a day to clean up the banks of local lakes and streams , just like adopt a highway clean up . I use to spend a few weeks in the summer in Kankakee back in the early 70's my grandparents lived on water st right on the river, what great fishing for smallmouth and catfish it was back then below the dam , i didnt fish for walleyes or sauger or saugeye back then but they are my # 1 fish now .

Tried wading over the weekend at the Wilmington Dam water level was too high and dangerous get out far enough and the current was to strong to present anything to fish that probably weren't even there. After realizing this drove around a little found a small creek that leads into the main river near the old dam where I caught one 16 in largemouth and a 14 in smallmouth...
