Fished today from 9 to 1 up by the dam and around the island. Got about as dozen white bass from by the dam and another dozen around the channel side of the island. Water level has dropped about a foot since Monday, and is still pretty clear with yesterday's rain. We used pink and white, and chartreuse jigs tipped with shiners and fat heads, and gold blade baits. The white bass are in the system and spread out for the taking. Great day.

Great day on the Illinois today. Got out around noon and started up by the dam. Used 3/16oz pink and white jigs tipped with shiners. Caught the end of a nice white bass bite. Moved around and didn't find much. Couple small sauger, drum, carp, skip jack. All kinds of action to keep us occupied. Ended up back up by the dam in the evening and got a few more whiteys. Ended up keeping 14 good sized ones, threw back probably the same number of small ones. Late catches were on spinners.
Good fishing all!

Fished the wall at the rock yesterday. Very slow caught one short.water is dropping and not much current moving through, that makes for a tough fishing scenario at the wall. Saw two other fish caught in about 3 1/2 hours
Jerry nice catch, i had a question for anybody that fishes out of boat, is the illinois a swift river at normal flow? Is it a treacherous river to navigate? I have 18' tracker flat bottom 60hp this would be my third year owning it so im no rookie but when it comes to rivers they can be intimidating! I have river experience kankakee, tippecanoe, wisconsin and st joseph rivers. Any thoughts or input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance
