I went out this morning from 6 - 1 and The Walleye are really biting this weekend! They are biting on jigs, divers and big minnows. I had the most success on the south side next to the buoys. The Walleye are really active on the North side also as you go under the bridge.  Guys were just trolling North and South on the East end. Biggest Walleye I seen was a guy caught a 30 inch.

Hey all, new to the lake and I was looking at fishing it this upcoming weekend. Does anyone know if the crappies are spawning? Also, any info on where to find stripers, eyes or crappies is welcome, even if it is just what depth they are at, colors etc. I imagine I will fish for eyes and stripes in the am vertical jigging, and then crappies in the late afternoon. PMs welcome and thank you in advance!

Has anyone been doing any good here lately? Thinking about trying the lake out for my first time.

Actual date was Sunday Sept 6 th.

Shore fishing for channel cats as soon as doors opened. It looked like the algae bloom was starting. We had 4 people posted on each corner of the bridge. We got completely skunked. Not a single bite. We moved west near the middle of the bar and it was the same thing. On our way back we checked with a few people that started fishing at the same time and they still didn't have a single bite. Spent 3hrs there and finally decided to try Lasalle lake out. It was the right choice. Water there was normal and we got our 1st small channel cat within 3mins of casting out. high temps that weekend did not help. Hoping to go back when it cools down again.

Our actual fishing day was July 1. We had fished the north side along the south shore tolling with worms, minnows, and flicker shads. We caught about 12 of those 8" White bass. We also caught 4 Walleye over 15" and of course a couple of Drum. Good day on water.

Fished the North side today from 12-5. Not a typical outing for me as I had the family with me including 3 little ones. Not ashamed to admit that I got smoked. Kids and wife were dragging night crawlers on the bottom as we were drifting while I was chunking everything in my box. They managed a total of 19 strippers and Walleye to my one stripper. None of the strippers had much size but we did manage 3 legal walleye (all of which are still swimming tonight). Fish seemed to all come between 6-9 FOW. DNR was nice enough to meet me at the ramp for a full inspection and stated that everyone coming in reported a very slow day. Hope this is able to help someone. Tight lines and God Bless Boys.
