Chris - Where do you launch out of now? Called couple of places and they were closed for the season.

We're most likely looking at the last month of open water. The fish will continue to put the feed bag on and are looking chunky right now. The past week has brought us some good fishing. Most fish are getting into their first ice locations. A lot of nice panfish caught along with a few nice eyes. Had a pattern that stuck for the muskies the past week as well. Hopefully we go out on a high note! I will be traveling back and forth to Lk Michigan and the chain in December and until ice up. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and hug your loved ones a little tighter.

Could be the Northwood's last trip of the soft water season on Lake Marie.  Fished one more time this weekend and got a few stripers 12-15 inches on 1/16 oz jig with plastic and a minnow.  Also caught a few crappies 8-11 inches with the same set up.  All in deeper water 20-23 fow.  But . . . . . we drifted into shallow water around the 6 ft area and wow what a surprise.  My guide pulled in a beautiful 34" muskie on a 1/8 oz yellow sausage-mite tipped with a minnow.  6 lb line, no steel leader, ultra lite rod and the rest is history.  That guy knows how to catch fish.  Through the years, we've hauled in at least a dozen muskies from Lake Marie on mini-mites of all kinds.  All fish were CPR'd.  And by the way, that "guide" is my son.  Happy Thanksgiving !   Tight lines !   IC

Fished Channel, Catherine, and Bluff from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm.  Water was 38 - 40 and very clear. Found a few crappie in a weedy bay in 5 FOW. You could see the fish swimming around. They hit for 30 minutes then disappeared. Nothing out deep or in the channels. I saw a few guys trolling cranks on Marie. Tough bite today. Water levels continue to drop.

Late Report from Sunday. I fished Channel and Catherine from 9 AM to 2 PM. Water temps 40-42. I found crappies, perch, and LMBs in the bays 5-8 FOW. I was snap jigging small plastics to trigger most bites. Not much hitting live bait on a dead stick. I didn’t try deep but I marked some large schools in 20+ FOW. Water is very clear. I didn’t find much in the channels either. Check your first ice spots and you will definitely find fish.
