MOON PHASE (30%)
Waxing Crescent

Just a heads up the Fox Waterway is not in control of the bouys around half moon island.  Those bouys are handled by the lock and dam.  Sucks to be that guy, but no one should rely solely on bouys to be safe navigating on the water.  The number of bouys on the chain is ridiculous and I've never been anywhere else that comes close to the hand holding that is expected as out here for boaters.

WARNING: Anyone fishing around Pistakee Lake at mouth of Fox River, the hazard buoys have been removed by Fox Waterway Agency and ***There are some serious boulders around Half Moon Islands even at the surface. Your gauge will read 6 ft but they'll come up fast.  I was around there last Saturday around 12:30p and heard a loud noise, when I looked back I saw a ski boat very close to island stopped dead. He wasn't moving at all on a windy day.  I'm sure he struck a boulder probably flying though the area. I am really surprised they don't leave a buoy or 2 as a warning around there. Why not take them out Oct 31, a day before they lower water. If that was you who was stuck, sorry , I had a wedding to go to, I couldn't stop. ALSO- Chain water will be lowered by DNR Nov 1. (Per Fox Waterway Agency).

NOTE: The first picture below is of the boat near Half Moon I mentioned earlier, why this site added 8 more pics of other people on my post, I don't know. I WISH I caught all those fish, but unfortunately I did not.

Nbbasshunter I sent you a message. The panfish bite is on right now! Good time for big crappies, gills and some white bass. A few walleyes mixed in this week. Small plastics or minnows on gold Aberdeen hooks have been best bet. Muskies have been slow the past few days. Hopefully cold weather helps out. November always brings on some good fishing!

Fished for walleye with my boys this weekend. Trolled and threw cranks at the usual spots. Biggest was 22in. If you think you're fishing to shallow, you're not. Good luck out there.

The Northwood was sailing Lake Marie on Saturday and Sunday.  Both days were quite windy, so after a few drifts on Saturday we decided to anchor off the yellow house between the totem poles and the white pillar house in 13 fow.  Started fishing at 7:30 with 200 hundred minnows and we were out of bait by 11:00 am.  We used 1/16 oz jigs with plastic (pink was the best) and a medium split shot.  We also used the drop shot, with a plain red hook about 16" above the weight.  The weight never got to the bottom and a striper was on the line.  Multitudes of white and yellow bass ranging from 8 - 14 inches.  Got one small walleye, a couple sheep and a few crappies.  The stripers were much more aggressive to the bait than the crappies and sheep.  Sunday we had the same experience, but the early rain chased us off the water by 9:30 am.  We anchored off the white pillar house in 12 fow.  Another bonanza day !  Another day of spectacular Chain fishing.  All fish were CPR'd.  To the red boat guy. . . . Hope you had some luck.  Tight lines !  IC

How much are you asking for your Alumacraft?  I know someone who's looking for a boat like this.

Crappies are schooled up and feeding. Small minnows and plastics are the best bet. A few nice muskies this week on cranks. Action was slow but got a few. Gills are in shallows and active on plastics. My 2017 Alumacraft 205 competitor is now up for sale for a great price. Fully loaded. Bringing on the 2018 model soon :) I love these boats

Fished the North Chain from 8 AM - 1 PM. Found some nice crappie in the weeds. A few LMB, lots of little strippers, perch, and bluegill. Tried a few spots for walleye but no takers. Even caught a small Muskie on a spinner. Great day to be out.
