Sunny
Report is from yesterday Friday mid morning to early afternoon. Took the wifey on the boat fishing the lower fox chain while kids had their last day of school. I got my butt whooped, she caught six walleyes, three legals, two shorts, and a nice 21 inch slot walleye. I caught four walleyes, one legal and three shorts. We used the most basic setup, half a nightcrawler on a circle hook and a split shot. Casting and slow retrieve on a sandy bottom. Kept four legal walleyes for dinner.
Partly Sunny 68°
Water: 62°
River Channel
Went out on south end of the chain from 6-12 Tried for eyes with jig and crawler and 4 dinks. Went in the channels and male crappies protecting the bed. Jig and minnow or lil hustler plastic. Went back to mouth of river and got two keepers on crawler piece. Pretty slow
Lower fox chain on Friday from noon till 4pm, fish everywhere in the channels, mostly crappies and gills today. No live bait, all on plastics, 1/32nd pink jig tipped with 1” gulp minnow took all the fish under slip bobber. Water depth was 3 to 3.5 fow, temp close to 62. Pretty much fish on every cast kind of afternoon. Best crappie 12”, there were some toothy critters disturbing the water, look at this poor fella.
