Northwood fished Lake Marie on Sunday from 10 - 1:30 pm. Generally fished 12 - 17 fow. Sheep, cats and small white stripers were hitting. Yellow bass were on the deeper side and were fairly good sized. Wind got pretty rough, so we anchored over some debris and would get 5 or 6, then nothing. We would move and same result. Thin fishers worked the best; silver and perch colored. Also got some on drop shots. Tight lines ! IC

I went out with Andrew from T-Bone guide service today. We targeted panfish in the channels. The water temperature dropped 10-15 degrees since I was there a few weeks ago. It was a good bite on small jigs with bait under bobbers. Fish were around the docs and weed line. We took off when the weather turned for the worse. No wake was lifted yesterday and they might have started the drawn down early because of the high water. Great to be out with Andrew. He works hard to put you on the fish fast.
I was out Tuesday with exactly the same results. Started on Marie, worked the breaks and did not see many baitfish on electronics. Went through channel and saw the same as you. Last guide I used, used 1-2 oz weights above 4 ft leader to get baits deep. I was trolling large Grandma's and those down close to the 10 ft bait fish. Talked to the guy and Musky Tales and he mentioned the tourney 2 weeks ago did not yeild many Musky. The few that were caught were small. I think when the water settles in the 40's they will become more active. Remember, water temps went from 70 to 50's rather quickly.

Was out on Catherine and Channel Lakes for about seven hours yesterday targeting muskies. Water is still high and no wake is still in effect
Tried trolling and casting all the usual baits with no luck. Not even a follow. Did mark a lot of bait fish especially in Channel in about 20-25' about 10' off the bottom. Tolled in and around them with no luck. If I had to do it over again I would make sure my lure was getting down to that 10 foot level. I think I was running them a little too high
Will be out again before ice to give it another whirl

The panfish bite is very good right now. Some fish deep and some very shallow so which ever you like to fish is good. Crappie minnows and plastics are best bet. Few nice muskies caught lately but the bite is not hot and heavy. Walleyes have been slow and bass are decent. T-BONE GUIDE SERVICE will be running a full time ice fishing business this year. Running trips out of permanent shacks that are designed to stay comfortable and we will be providing lunch for our customers. Typically the chain and the local lakes are great for ice fishing. We will have 3-4 shacks out this year and more next year. We also run Lk Michigan trout trips throughout the winter that have been really productive over the years. Lots of good stuff on the horizon. Thanks to everyone who has made this endeavor possible for us.
