MOON PHASE (92%)
Waxing Gibbous

I'm thinking that yesterday was my last day of open water fishing on the fox chain for the 2018 season. Things are getting iced up and I have some other lakes in the area that I love to target at this time of the year. Lk Michigan and Lk Geneva are amazing fisheries and I will end the open water season on them. This was an absolutely amazing season for the fox chain and for us at T-BONE GUIDE SERVICE. Tons of fish, tons of big fish and a lot of memories made. A HUGE thank you to everyone who has supported us and for those who have posted kind words on here. Those kind of things make it all worth it and mean more to us than you know. We have a goal to make every trip a fun, learning experience with some fish in the mix and we cherish everyday we get to keep doing this. We finished out the year on some high notes with some very nice muskies in some crazy weather. Once ice comes we will be out daily doing ice trips and preparing for the fishing shows. We hope to see you guys and girls at the shows and talk fishing. God bless you and your families through the holidays and please be careful on the ice. Until then...fish on!!

Went out today, Sandbar is open and we figured to launch our boat with thin ice, lol.

Went to the deep hole and marked few school fish but won’t take bite. Maybe too cold. Any suggestions?

The Northwood was out on Marie Sunday from 10:00 until 1:00 pm.  Only a few other brave souls were out there.   Action was very slow and the wind made it very tough for drifting.  Anchored in all the areas we fished.  Blade baits netted us stripers and sheep.  Each spot was good for 3 or 4 fish and then nothing.  Tight lines !   IC

I checked the Fox Waterway website and the levels are actually a little high since the last rains.  I'll see if the crappies are still biting today.

Late Report from Sunday.  Fished in the wind and rain on Channel from 9:30 am - 1:30 pm.  Eventually found some nice crappies and small bluegills in 4-7 FOW right on the weed line.  Worked a small jig and bait under a bobber.  Conditions were tough.  It looked like there was some sort of Muskie tournament going on.  Tom's and Muskie Tails were both closed on Sunday.

I called Musky Tales and the owner indicated his pier is still in... Apparently, they are drawing down for winter so the water level is low. He indicated I should be able to get my boat in as he pulled a boat out several days back. If you are going out on Thursday let me know (posting or PM me). I would be interested sharing any 411...

Cheers,

John

Go to Barnacle Bobs off Rt. 173/4th   or go to the Thirsty Turtle which is on Channel Lake.  You can also call the Sand Bar which is on Marie and see if their launch is still open.  That is closest to Bluff Lake.
