Haven't fished Marie in decades. Headed over there in a few days to test the waters. If someone could point me to some GENERAL locations for a chance at a walleye or some of those yellow stripers, it would be appreciated.  Last time I was there, I remember I couldn't keep those dang channel cats off my tip ups. Still like that? Thanks.

My first time on chain ice fishing. Slow day on Marie for us, 1 of our group of 3 got a few stripers. We moved around quite a bit. Had many lookers but no takers. I will try different jigs/bait more next time, just tried a few different with waxies yesterday. Good to get out for 6 hours, will try again next week. Nice fish Mark, 12 hrs on ice you deserved those wallys!

Went out on the northern end of Lake Catherine today. Drilled upwards of a dozen holes and could not find the fish in 9-15 FOW. Went out for around 4-5 hours and only 5 small perch between two guys.

Fished Marie 6am - 6pm, 3 eyes, 15 - 17', many cats, some very big.  Saw a 26.5" eye released.  They wanted spoons today,  Cold and windy start, nice to be back on the ice.  Here are the 2 @ 17".

I don’t know about Pistake

but watch out on Marie . There are spots that are very dangerous no matter how cold it is or has been . Don’t follow the sleds - they skip water like a jet ski ...

Went out yesterday with my dad on Catherine and fished from about 2:00 till dark. Marked a ton of fish on the Marcum but only could get the small perch to bite. Tried everything from rippin raps to jigging raps to small jigs tipped w minnows but just could not get the walleyes to bite.

People use both snowmobiles and atvs on the chain, but be carefull and use common sense the ice thickness can vary in certain areas.  Some areas like thru channels and under bridges can be dangerous because of currents.

My cousin wants to bring his ATV on Pistakee or lake Marie when we go there next weekend. I am a walker with my shanty, however do people bring ATV's out on chain, or is it not done and overkill? thanks for any input.
