Out today for awhile 3 inches of ice from 3 ft to 6 ft of water. Didn't go out any further ice was inconsistent and spotty in deeper water. Caught alot of smaller bluegill but nice to get out.

Prior to the snow, accessed the lake by Choppers with a buddy. We spudded the entire way and could not get to where we wanted due to thinner ice. Like in December, the southwest bay froze in two different stages; however, last week's strong northeast winds negatively impacted ice creation in deeper water. We wanted to get to water at or deeper than 5 to 6 feet and could not as that ice was at or less than 2" (estimated). In the area we fished, which was 3 to 4 feet of water, the ice was 3.5 to 3.75" (measured, not estimated). With the snow, it will be difficult, if not impossible, to see the 2 different ice stages. Fishing was extremely slow, so we left after a couple of hours. Be safe, partner up, wear picks, bring a rope/throwable, spud, etc. Going to wait a few days before I return.
