MOON PHASE (70%)
Waning Gibbous

CONDITIONS
Sunny

WATER TEMP
71° - 75° F

Went out both Saturday and Sunday.  Crappies were hot on Saturday.  Wind seemed to slow things down on Sunday.  Caught a solid 13" fish on each day.  My biggest ever.  All fish were spawned out.

Milfoil issue appears to be under control.  Nice job - finally.  Also, the new restrictions on crappies seems to be a huge success.  We released dozens of little guys for the years to come and kept some large fillets for release in the grease.

Would like to see more posts here.

MOON PHASE
Last Quarter

ICE DEPTH
12 inches

AIR TEMP
26° - 30° F

Went out yesterday, Sunday, for my 'first ice' this year from 1:00pm - 4:30pm.  Granted not prime time but caught nothing but dinks.  I hope our Lake Management team has the 'lake chemistry' figured out for a good fish balance.  Last winter it was weeds, 3" perch, and northerns.  Weed issue seems to now be under control after a long weedy summer.

Fished in 13 FOW and Vexie lit up like a Christmas tree all afternoon.  Constant fish marks.  Caught 30 - 35 tiny 3" gills.  That's it.  Started to rain so I packed up taking nothing home.  Spoke with a guy just off the roadbed when I left who was having the exact experience.

Appreciate input from others.

MOON PHASE (92%)
Waning Gibbous

ICE DEPTH
6 inches

One of my best seasons for night time walleyes. Gills were tough and tight in the milfoil weeds most of the season. The last few weeks I found some nice 8-9 inch gills on key weed edges. Last spring the the gill spawn was good and they were plentiful as always. The Pike did not eat them all in one summer in my opinion. Mid summer on panfishing was tough. Mainly because the milfoil was so thick mid summer they had plenty of places to hide from the pike. Pike are getting out of hand and I am working on getting the 24 inch lowered to 20 and 4 fish per day versus 2. Trying to thin out the snakes. Years ago I posted regularly on here but the haters pushed me off. I run the Candlewick Anglers Facebook page. Feel free to post, ask questions or private message me on there. Lake is soft and un safe in my opinion. Tight lines <')))><

Firstly, I wish more people would post their activities on this wonderful lake.  It's always good to see what's others are doing.

Went out Saturday afternoon for 4-1/2 hours.  Ice was still good - 7" - 8".  ATV's moved around safely.  Fished in 10 FOW with heavy weed cover 1-1/2' on bottom.  Saw lots of 'sniffers'.  Caught a 21" and 23" northern on my gill jig tipped with a waxie.  Rest of the day were 4" - 5" dink perch.  That's it.

Now for my observation:  the chemistry of this lake has changed tremendously.  7" - 9" bluegills almost non existent.  And the northern population has spiked up so that I can't fish for more than two hours for gills and not get a snake.

The weed status must have something to do with this, but the northerns have taken over this lake - and the pan fish with them.  Are we doing anything about this?

There's actually hope for all the pain of catching those four inch dinks out there this year.  Caught her Saturday - 12".  Unfortunately a one hit wonder that day.  Seems that the little ones grow up and get beer bellies just like us.
