Was hoping to get out and fish here tomorrow. Has anyone been out here lately and had any luck?

Went out this afternoon, very cold. Got 2 small white bass and one nice crappie about 10 inches on a tube jig under a slip bobber. Had another rod with a crawler on the bottom which only got me a couple of bullheads. I think the changing weather patterns every week still seem to make the fish timid. Better luck next week Wink

Hey everyone,

I've fished this resevoir all summer long and had great success with a variety of species. This place has pike, crappie, yellow bass, largemouth, carp, sucker, bullhead, bluegill, channel catfish, and an occasional perch. I love this lake and its a shame to see that the last posting is from 2005. Theres no ice fishing here but I look foward to posting many reports through out the spring and summerSmile Come on guys lets get a nice thread started here!

I have also tangled with Crappie and Northern out of here. No size to them. Not much depth to the place but I noticed that golden roaches m-l sizes can be productive in the spillway current.Im sure there are some snakey pike 25"s but crappies seem to be 7-10"s. Last time I fished it was prob 2005.

I would like to see what[b tip ups would do out there with Large roaches/Spoons?

Good Luck guys! Dale

Mr Hat, when was the last time you fished here? And what tackle did you use for the Pike? I suspect the usual (Leader, Weights, 12 lb. line, Bait, ETC), but what are the average sizes of them? I would suspect 19 inch pike here. Do you have any pictures of them? PM. me please. Or answer here if you like.

There's some nice fish in there. Carp are not too hard to find in there. I've heard there are some real nice bass in there, but haven't caught them myself. I used to fish there all the time about 10 years ago. We caught lots of pike right below the dam on live shiners and small bluegills. There are some big crappie in there too, but they can be hard to find. If you do find a school of them you're in for a good time.

Went out to Buffalo Creek today for the first time. Fished the place where the lake flows into the creek. Had one hit on corn, but I don't know what it was. Has anybody else had any luck here? This place is only 5 minutes from my house, and it looks like a real good place to fish.

Seriously people, Has anybody caught any suckers or bullheads here within this year? I am thinking of fishing with live bait (NOT FLY FISZING!) probably red worms and bread. I am also interested in pike too. Smile

Fished the big section today for about 2 hours. Didn't catch a single thing. I am really hoping to find bass in here so I only through artificials. Tried jigs, crank baits, worms & even tried a chatter bait. Had a few others fishing near me and not one fish caught. Even spoke with DNR hoping to get an idea of what species are in here but she wasn't sure. Did notice that the water depth at the shoreline was about 3 feet straight down. Anyone have any further info about Buffalo Creek please share!
