Fished from 2 till 8 on Sunday in 15fow . Before dusk targeted gills with teardrop tipped with waxie. Tried different colors with same result, only a few bites. When it started to get dark around 4:30 switched to glow jig and minnow. Had some decent action but nothing of size with biggest at 9 3/4. You had to work the fish to get them to bite. Fish were on bottom and would hit when bringing bait up a foot or two.Wore different boots today and had no problems with creepers which were a must . Police were out again issuing tickets. Thight Lines Jim

First time out this year, Fished from 2:30 - 7:30 in 15 fow. picked up some bluegills on teardrop tipped with waxie. biggest about 8". when it started to get dark switched to glow jig and minnow for crappies. got about 6 with nothing bigger then 9". Wasn't on lake for more then 10 minutes before i got checked for permit and licence. Very nice guy. The ice is flat and solid, Creepers are a must. Had mine on but they didn't work because i wore boots that had a higher arch and spikes barely touched ice. Won't be wearing those out again fishing. My buddy had to pull in shelter with me sitting on it. Great to be on ice again. Tight Lines Jim

WINDY and actually warm, the permanent shacks were getting towed to the shore for the melt, those guys got a good buddy system over there I watched them pull about 5 or 6 big shacks so they don’t get froze in come tomorrow night when it freezes again I’m thinking, anyway ice is thick and now you can see the bottom, there was 2-3 inches of water in areas, I wouldn’t even think about fishing tomorrow it’s a huge soupy mess out there if you fall youre soaked.
Grab your favorite jig, I was in 12-16 fow, forgot my Vex, was nice not to stare at that damn thing for two hours... bunch of smalls, no keeps,
Fishing the Hard Water Classic tournament in Warrenville Saturday with The owner of Club G, he’ll win something, he always does!

Monday had to spike little deeper under the ice maybe because the sun was out earlier in the day and they just stayed down deeper.. love gills a few slammed the rod scared me! Good numbers, hole hoping, they were on and off, few hot holes. Might be time with the last few mild days to go nighttime crop hunting.
pantera- you hit the nail right on the head buddy, unreal.. and of the 20 cleaned fish, 1 did have a white spec, pricked it out and we’ll eat good, got a bunch of nice triangles for the frying pan.
If you shot a 12 point buck every time you went deer hunting, what fun would it be anymore, getting skunked is great, you just don’t know it:)
No one is trying to police anybody, just saying be careful make sure your fish fall in limits which they do cause dudes are checking us. Trying to get out there this weekend hopefully this warm weather doesn't affect the ice too much. Will post some pics when I land that 50-inch Pike haha
CBear nice gills. I’d say way over 6” Mark. Love the Dr. Phil episode, “today your gills are to small” Keep up the good work and reports. Gotta love the lake link police! You still get the worms in the panfish out there. Used to fish bangs a few times a year. Most the sunfish had the white worms in them. Never checked the gills and crappie. Good to hear from Gotem See he’s still getting under peoples skin. Usually on crystal lake though. Lol. Anyway just thought I’d jump in the fire! Keep up the good work CBear your one of the few having a good year and keeping a sense of humor! Tight lines!
