I have noticed that bass under 15" are abundent and easy to cattch. I am going to have to work on finding the keepers.

I am actually going to be fishing the tournament this sunday up there. Looking forward to it.

I fished the Apple Canyon tournament on Sunday. My partner had to leave early and they would not let us weigh in our fish before two o'clock. We had four keepers. All of them just over 15".

Caught 50 fish. Most between 13" and 14". Caught fish on surface baits, spinners and plastics.

Frank,

Fished last Sunday, and the largemouths are really active. We caught a bunch of fish, but they tend to run small (most around 14 inches). However, I did manage one decent one on a jig and pig combo. If you have fished the lake before, you should know that it is relatively easy to fish. Most of the fish we caught were in 8-12 f.o.w., and were relating to main lake structure. Almost any lure that we threw caught some fish, but some worked better than others. As for smallmouths, there are a precious few left in the lake, and your best bet for encountering them is simply to target largemouths, and you may stumble onto a few nice ones. May see you on the water!

Anyone fish this lake lately? Looking for any help. Gonna be up there in a couple weeks and would like to make the most of my trip. Want to target Small and Largemouth bass.

Thanks, Frank

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this? I recently bought a lot up at apple canyon. (Had a place there 15 years ago). I was wondering if anyone would mind sharing some information about good places to fish for bass and walleye.

I don't live at the lake so I'm not sure how the ice faired with the warm temps and rain we had over the weekend. I would have to guess its not safe but really don't know. Good luck if you go.

Hey Mr. Crappie, Thanks for the info, We are coming up this weekend and would like to get some last ice fishing in (weird to say since it is only the end of Jan.) but is there still 4 inches or will we have to look into open water fishing elsewhere? Sure do appreciate any info. QC

I was out today and I would say the ice was down to four inches and I'm sure its getting worse with this warm rain. Today was probably my last time on the ice unless we get another cold spell. Saw some bluegill being caught and picked up a few crappie.Good luck.
