I am just wondering what types of flies to use in the winter. I'm 14 and My grandpa gave me a fly pole for my birthday. The first pic are the eggs that I made then the second one are the ones I bought im just not sure if I bought the right ones.

If you're looking to fish the tributaries, then you'll do OK with any of them, but better in the upcoming months of March and April. Nice looking yarn eggs, by the way.

Don't be afraid to add some small split shot staggered up from the yarn eggs of flies if you can't get them down. You really need so be in the strike zone early in the run while the water is cool. They move more as the water warms.

Enjoy and have fun!
