In waters as deep as 120ft A simple fl8-se Works well for me. Beyond that fl-18 deep or the fl-20 are what i have experience with. Size and style of the lure are big factors. I fish lake superior and we fish lakers from 60 to 200 plus f.o.w.With lures from .5ounce up to 3 ounces. It is hard to beat the tried and true vexilar. Also switching to a narrower cone angle on your transducer helps in deep water 9 or 12 degrees seem to be best. I am sure there are many other locators that work well on the market. These are the ones i know and have used.

I have an ICE-55 and I usually lose sight of my bait at between 120-130 ft down depending on how big of a lure I'm using. Down to 150 FOW I can still see fish clearly and watch how they respond, just can't see the lure. At 110-120 I can still see a 1/8 oz pimple, so it's pretty good until the 120+ range. This works for me, but I honestly expected better.
I asked around a lot last year how well people could see in the 120-150 ft range, but never really got an answer. So I also am curious to hear what people think the best locator is for up to 150 ft.
