3 walleye limit on Winnebago

Up for debate at the spring hearing this year is a reduction to a three fish walleye limit on the system.

I like it as studies have shown there is a high catch rate of walleyes on the system, especially immature females.  Look at battle on Bago, how many fish were brought in over the slot, not that many. The only thing that protected those 16 to 20 inch fish out there till last summer was the huge Shad hatch in 2016.

I think some sort of size limit is much easier for law enforcement to enforce. Many people double and triple dip limits. Possession limit is hard to enforce once home. Size limit can be enforced on the water, even the guys with boat houses would have to obey.

Remember......These are "advisory" questions.......The DNR would have to agree and then make the regulation.....

As far as I know there is no guarantee we will go to the 3 rule limit. Nor do i believe it will help in any realistic way. They'd have been better off putting slots into effect. JMO

Those questions were answered on another resolution form and were verbal questions rather than in writing. I do not see those results posted.

I'm looking for the few other questions that were asked. maybe they were local only?  there was one about allowing fishing in strugeon shacks and another about not allowing the use of camereas in sturgeon shacks.

I apologize for asking but want to confirm the year that it starts,  is it 2020 or this year?  I seen so many references to 2020 as I was following this discussion but almost looks like it starts this year.

I’m glad it passed it’s just to bad it had to come to this,  I see more pictures now than ever before of people raping the lake or the river now.
