Have friends that have been out the last 3 days. 2 skunks and 1 bird another day. Its pretty much the dead sea right now, again.

Good Luck to you as hunting was extremely slow on Wednesday (11/3) - Sunday (11/7) Only shoot to be had was on the South Shore on the Refuge Line. Even then it was just a poke and a hope skybusting. Extremely Slow = 1 to 2 birds per hunt

Last time I was to Grand River was on 11/1/10. Shooting was pretty slow.

Any reports since then? Planning on going up tomorrow AM.

PM me if desired.

Thanks,

I've not been back here since the opener, but both dikes can be used to access the marsh. It looks like the DNR is fixin to dredge them finally. This will be either very good, or very bad; there's enough blokes that hunt here as it is... Worried

Years ago (1977 or thereabouts) when I started hunting Grand River, we always came in off of Grand River Road, from the parking lot where the road makes a sharp Right turn.

The last 5-10 years I've been going in off Hy. B. I'd heard that my old way in is now choked with deadfalls.

True story? Is the North channel still open?

Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I'll be making my prodigal return to were it all began for me. It's been 2 openers in a row now that I've missed Crying I'm anxious to get back home! Big Smile I ain't afraid of no mud bogs, although it sounds like water levels have stabilized a bit. Hope so. Ralph, I may just go off the beaten path, if ya know what I'm saying. If any of youse deer hunters or goose hunters or youth duck hunters are out this way this weekend, let us know how it looks, yeah?! BOOM, OUTTA HERE.

Not true at all. They had their normal draw down to get rid of the carp that came in with 2 years ago huge flood and the damn was put to its normal height as always in mid August and there has been basically no rain since then. So the getting to spots that havent been reached in years is a falacy. Makes no difference that we got 21 inches of rain this summer if the damn is set for a draw down, which it was.
