Price County-

Saturday: 8-11:30 and went for 2 hrs in the afternoon.  A lot of flushes, seen and unseen.

Sunday: got a late start and went for less than an hour.  we had 4 flushes with a total of 6 birds flushed.

I am impressed with the chick survival and I am not seeing low numbers.  One spot that I hunted last year had 4 birds flushed and I gave up on that spot for the year.  This year, I had a lot more there.  I was worried, but it looks like a good year to me.  I only was able to hit 2 locations as my younger dog, a pup of my older female, is in training on a hunting trip from Montana, North Dakota, and the last stop in Canada.  Hoping to get her back in 2 weeks.  My older dog, an all star, is 9.  And between her and myself, the heat made things tough for a two day trip, but we had a blast.

Took a 1.5 hour walk this morning. Dogs flushed 1 woodcock and a flock of turkeys. Too hot! Later in the week it should be a little cooler.

Was out this morning, flushed 3 grouse, didn't have a shot at any of them. Flushed a flock of turkeys that offered a shot

Fall color is at approximately 15% in Price County. Historically, peak color occurs during the first week of October. Following peak the leaves begin to fall rapidly with a hard frost and when the wind shakes the leaves from the trees.

Good luck hunting!

Usually go up for the opener but won't get up till the following weekend,  kind of glad as it's supposed to be quite warm in the U.P., extended forecast shows it cooling off next week.

Here's hoping for a good and safe season for all.

Where'd you find the brood information?  I did a quick search on the WI DNR website, but couldn't find it.
