2017 Pheasant Season

Opens tomorrow and not one post. WOW .

Blonhaven in Orfordville is reasonablly priced, great cover, great staff, and atmosphere. Started hitting this spot after Dark Acres closed up.  Highly recommneded.  have fun

I'm thinking of trying cackle creek no membership from what I've read just gotta find the time its by Oconomowoc 

Anyone hunt some reasonably priced game farms that you don't need a membership to hunt in the southern Wisconsin area.

• Was out on Friday 13 degrees hunted a  late release spot. NMany hunters out. Hit 3 spots mainly cattails or long grasses. No phez tracks but many bunny and squirrel tracks. Talk to one humter that flushed 4 birds.  Glad the Windzor and I went.

Got out for a few hours yesterday nice walk dogs had fun but no birds public land. One sad thing found the remains of 2 dead hens in a rooster only spot great habitat though must have been wild birds 

Anybody out hunting in the cold this last week?  I have tried it twice at a couple PHG no luck.  I didn't last long in the cold.  Saw one set of old tracks and thats it.  May try some game farm hunting when it warms a bit.

Went to two of my late season spots today and didn't see any pheasants but did see a coyote. That's probably why I didn't see any pheasants. It was a beautiful afternoon for a walk and watch my dog work!

Maybe there is hope for this season

Seems to be pretty slim pickings out there. Headed to Kettle Moraine Sat and walked for 4 hours.  Dog never had any scent the whole time.  Saw a few other guys out didn't hear shooting.  Will try a couple more spots that always seemed to hold some late season birds.

Musky Queen is right. My brother talked io a warden today. It passed but does not go into effect until next season

The extended season begins after the opener next year according to the upland game biologist in Madison.  

It was a private club on the ill/Wi line. I once, many moons ago would hit Ron's (northern kettle area). It was a nice place.
