My dog just found a turkey leg. I was amazed to see 2" spurs. How old of a bird do you think that came from?

I actually got my first adult tom with no spurs this year. Not even a bump,8" beard.

I looked at pic of rooster spurs and it looks like them. Guess I thought the leg was a turkey leg, but it seems to match rooster spurs perfectly. There are farms around, but never saw a rooster around. Sorry for he mistake.

that is an odd color... are you sure it wasn't maybe a rooster leg? Ive seen chickens with spur like that, only turkey spurs ive ever seen are black/greyish,intresting.

My dog found about six inches of the leg. I cut the spur off. I wonder if white was its natural color.

Could you post a photo of that spur? 2" is incredible! Hard to age on with spurs like that. Definitely older than 3 for sure.....

that truly is a limb hanger and a STUD.. you can really only age turkeys by spur length so a 2" spur imo would have to be aprox a 3-5yr old bird more likely 4.
