Anyone that Pike fishes knows follow ups are very common. Just wondering if anybody has ever had a hit while doing a figure 8 pattern that is so popular with the Musky fishermen.

i like to let bait drop in the water column...make them go down to get it.

We hooked into a 35"er on the figure 8 this last weekend.  Sonnyboy ran the 8 4 times before it finally got a hook into it after missing multiple times.

We bagged as pike on the figure 8 and on an L last week. But as stated, more frequently it's as you lift it out. The pause also has worked in the past.

I always stop my lure at the boat and wait a second or 2 before lifting it out of the water. It's amazing how often this will produce a strike.

I agree with the last post I have caught a few over the years, with the L.Muskies think they are the king of their waters and they are most are not boat shy, pike are for the most part.

Some guys have success doing an L-turn at the boat but in my experience it's very rare to catch them on boat-side maneuvers as they're way more boat-shy than muskies.
