So - are you guys running mono or braid on your panfish rods? Seems like I run in to more panfish guys that still run mono (I am sometimes one of them!).

Does anyone else use like a 8 pound braid and then the last few feet tie on three or four pound mono? I use this set up on my ice fishing poles and use an Albright knot to tie the lines together and have never had a break off yet. I do this because I hate the curling that light weight lines get on the reel. Braid solves this problem. Don't have to change line as often. Thinking of trying this on my summer poles also.

4lb trilene xl. For perch, crappIe, and gIlls. That's it. Never needed anything else. I have a medium light rigged with 6lb braid to small swIvel and 6lb floro leader for whitebass.

My main summer rod has 4lb fused crystal with a fluorocarbon leader; it with a slip bobber allows for super long casts. All others are mono, with or without fluorocarbon leaders.

Great to hear icehouse! I am thinking about an early season trip down to the barge there this year.

An ERX and a Ci4 - now there's a set up!

I use all 4# mono or under for panfish, except for whitebass in rivers - then I use 6# Sufix 832 and 8# fluoro leaders.

Both. Depending on body of water, clarity, depth and whatever the fish let me know what I can get away with.
