Hybrid?

Caught a nice 8 inch Pumpkinseed that I want to get mounted. Some of my friends are saying that it looks like a hybrid Pumpkinseed x Bluegill. An 8 inch Pumpkinseed is pretty good but if it's a hybrid I might not get it mounted. Your thoughts?

Hybrid. Look at the Geneva thread for pics of true seeds and 9-10 inchers!!! Nice cross though, def more gill traits than seed on your fish

looks nothing like pumpkinseeds we catch up north. they are much darker and have worm like makings on them.

Looks like a standard pumpkinseed to me. Nice size, but the mouth looks like a bluegill (pumpkinseeds also have mouths like a bluegill, although I believe they have bigger "teeth" in the mouth). Definitely has the colors like a pumpkinseed as well. I don't believe it's a hybrid.
