Where to hook live minnows when using tip ups. Pictures would be great. Also where to fish for pike, like what depth and structure they will be at

I hook along side the dorsal, pushing the point of the hook in from rear to front, under just enough skin to keep them on the hook. I try not to get the hook in any of the meat.

That way the minnow swims freely and stays lively longer.

You need very sharp hooks.

For northern, using larger minnows, you can get away with putting the hook into the flesh.

Hook your minnows just under the dorsal or back fin, try not to puncture the spine. Pike will be shallower than most fish and as weeds die they tend to roam, but as spring comes closer they move shallow and towards their spawning sites. Hope this helps, good luck!!
