Wondering if anyone has tried the new Vexilar DD-100 digital depth readout accessory. I was looking at them yesterday , but haven't pulled the trigger yet. For anyone that has, how is it performing and was it worth the $50 bucks to add one on to your flasher? Thanks and tightlines! Icestalker.

IceStalker-If you look at the Genz box from the front there should be a oval hole with two small holes. One above and one below the bigger hole. That's the area to mount your DD-100. The unit comes with two small pegs that fit into the small holes to secure the DD-100 to the box.

I assume it's a newer box. If you have the older Genz Box with no holes you'll have to secure it with some small screws.

Any other questions feel free to message or just ask.

Good luck. Take care and tight lines.

Greg here is how it gets attached. Simply unplug your transducer from the back of your Vexilar and plug into the DD-100 connector. Take the other end of the DD-100 and plug it into the back of your Vexilar. Attach the red power lead from the FL Digital Depth Indicator to the positive terminal post of your battery. A piggy-back terminal has been provided for easy connection to the Genz or Pro Pack. If you have an Ultra pack, please go to the Vexilar web site for detailed mounting instructions. Finally, place the FL Digital Depth Indicator where the old battery indicator was and attach with either plastic push pins or use a small bolt and lock nut. Hope this helps you out.

Take care...

Thanks jigginfireman for the response. Where does it get connected to. Also seen the flx28 at the show and it looked awesome.

I got two of these last year - one for my dad and one for myself. It's nice when you're fishing deep water to know the exact depth instantly instead of trying to count ticks. Battery status works well also. I have a soft case for my vexilar though and where it mounts it's hard to see without pulling the case down to look at it. Wish I could mount it on the front somewhere.

Yes Greg it works for all models except the FLX-28. The 28 has the depth and battery status built into the display.

Icestalker,

I picked one up at the Milwaukee Ice Fishing Show and installed it this afternoon. It seems to work good. I tested it on the floor and and got a digital depth reading that matched the flasher scale. It give an instant depth reading (will not measure less than 3 feet) and also with the push of a button will give you your battery status.
