Any ideas on these. I just bought a Dangler trip up and the trip part is pretty stiff. Looking to run a open bail with a feather light trip flag for gills. Pretty similar to a tip down with your own pole. I have to pull to hard on the line to trip the flag. Blush

Is it a 'slammer" type rig? The fish have to pull against the bend in the rod to trip it. A simple bent wire trigger works for even light bites. Here is my Bay perch set up. You hook the metal tip of the rod with the bent wire as shown, and you slip the line carefully into the "V".

actually the trip up part is separate and is a flag assembly, just looking to make the trip mechanism lighter.
