I'm not going to worry about anything until deer season is over, maybe I'll get really lucky, shoot one, and head out on the lake in the afternoon.

I've been working on the shack, but everything else can wait until November.

Hopefully that'll be into the 40's after this weekend's low temps.

My kid used to do the same thing. It got to the point that I actually bought an old suitcase style clam and painted it so she could use it as a playhouse with her friends downstairs in her playroom. One day I should break out the old flowers and butterflies Clam. Over the years I think the girls even painted the inside and floors

The temperatures are so far below normal up north recently that if this pattern continues into  November - we’ll be on the ice very early. My only concern is that with this cool snap now, by the time November rolls around, we might be warmer than normal.  One thing I’ve learned though, is that one month doesn’t seem to usually predict  another, either way warm or cold. So, who knows?

If I had my way, I’d take normal  - or even slightly warmer than normal  Weather now, and then the cooler weather can invade around November 10th.

Dusted off the shanty the other night, turns out it works great at a fort for my son. He's as excited for this season as I am. I hope he's still taking me out when I'm 90!

My Dad will be 90 in September. He still wants to go ice fishing!!!! We went out fishing last week and he loved it. I can’t wait to go thinking about him going!!! I always think about how many more years I can fish with him.

I talked to my wife about coming with me on trips to Lacrosse next winter. She says no but we shall see.

I'm going to Onalaska this winter a few times. I really enjoyed the time there last year. I plan to become more knowledgeable about fishing that area.

Good news, we're approaching mid-July. Bad news, water temps are hoovering around 80 up in Land O Lakes.

LOL! No handwritten note for me seaguar. Just have no drive to go anymore. Plus I generally have the boat in the water 8 months a year, weather permitting. What I have invested in ice fishing is a waste anymore since i barely go. Used to go multiple times a week now a couple a season. Compare that to the fact that I've already had the boat in the water around 40x this year already. Rather cash in my ice fishing gear and put it toward something else.
