Does anyone have any recommendations on a resort for Big Winni or any of the good Perch or Walleye lakes in MN? Looking to take a mid-week 3-4 day trip later this month. I'd rather not go all the way up to Lake of the Woods. Winni looks to be about 7 hours away. Thanks for any suggestions.

High Banks and McArdles are also good on Winnie. In my opinion, Winnie perch numbers in the decent year classes, are down. We had trouble getting even close to our normal numbers last summer. That is the worst in 15 years. They were mostly 6 inches or so. I also watched a couple of early ice fishing shows on Winnie and the hosts were calling some pretty small perch " good ones". They weren't! I have heard that leech is coming on. If I didn't have a history at Winnie, I would go to Leech. Big Stone also has a good perch bite going on. Mrt

I have stayed at Becker's Resort years ago changed hands since I've been there but cabins still look nice. They have rental shacks if you need them.
