Can pretty much guarantee that the piston is scorched. 2 strokes are not hard at all to take apart and rebuild/ replace the pistons. I just rebuilt a jiffy #30 that had a scratched piston. Can't really speak on the newer jiffy's, but a two stroke is a two stroke. Take out the plug and shine a penlight inside and try to get a good look at the cylinder. If the cylinder is scratched or scorched then it's going to get expensive. The piston and rings for my model 30 were only $45 shipped and it was easy enough. If it is just your piston then I would recommend doing it yourself. PM me if you want.

Try pulling the spark plug and putting some oil in the cylinder. Pull the rope and turn it over a few times. It may help a little.

Auger problems. I would take it to a small engine place and get their opinion. Probably burned the cylinder. Mrt, .
