In the July 2017 In-Fisherman, there is a picture of a massive pike that was entered in the release category, for the Master Angler awards.
The fish was reported caught on Feb 22, 2016, and from the picture, it is easily the largest pike I have ever seen from Wisconsin waters; the girth would appear to be approaching 30". Easily over 30#, and if it had stripes rather than spots no one would doubt a 40# weight claim. A true giant that may have been contested the 38# state record.
I've never seen any other reference to this fish. Does anybody know of any further photos, or story behind the catch?
