So who has been out shooting? What do you like and why? Post some scores!! Are leagues worth it or should a shooter just go out for fun? Lets get a forum going and maybe get together and shoot!!

Got to shoot some registered trap today. 300 targets. It was a good day! Felt I should have done better but made too many mistakes. Next week!

Finally I have been able to get out shoot some trap these past two weeks. (I was unable to shoot last year due to shoulder surgery) After a minor gun fit issue was corrected I ran my first trap today from the 16. 1 bad round later(rest of squad wanted targets raised), I went to another field to shoot yardage(23) for the first time since July 2016 and boiled them all.  Shot another and dropped 2 of the last 6. 48, I'll take! Really like my gun setup right where it is.

All three are  870s,  and I'm comfortable with them . Since it is for charity and learning I'll just use the 20 . Thanks for your offer though  . I think it's at Wehr.

Depending on the course they could be report pairs or true pairs. Always two birds tho in a standard sporting clay setting.

Fixed full could result in a frustrating day. If you feel confident that your 20 can cover anything between 15 and 40 yards then that would be your answer. Or, depending on where you were shooting, I’ll borrow you a 12. I am not that way! I’ll help a brother out :)

Grizzly , are all single shots or some doubles  ?

I can go 12 with a fixed full choke or a 20 or 28 with adjustables .

Thoughts ?

Thanks

Sporting Clays is more like skeet. You have a minimum of 50 targets usually. People do shoot sub gauges but I would say the preferred is 12. You can have targets at 15 yards all the way to 40+ yards, in my experience. Modified is a good all around choke. Shooting faster 1oz. Loads may help as well. Good luck and enjoy!

I'm going to a benefit sporting clays  match .  Never shot them just a lot of trap , some skeet . How much more difficult is it  ?  What's the best gun to use ?  12 or 20 , choke ?

Thanks

Please consider coming out and supporting a benefit shoot. Great local fundraiser supporting First Generation Nursing Students at WCTC in the name of Sarah Mindiola Barse.

I have supported this shoot since it came about and it is a fun time raising money for a great cause.
