The State SCTP Trapshoot is at the Homegrounds in Rome (Adams Co.) this weekend. The last I heard is that there are going to be nearly 1500 kids shooting. Wow! Some will shoot Friday but most on Saturday. Take 1500 and add mom, dad, sisters/brothers, grandma, and grandpa and you'll get an idea of a total number of heads at that facility for basically one day. Sunday they will be shooting handicap and doubles but most kids don't shoot those events.
The past two weekends were skeet at Sauk Prairie, around 200 shooters and Sporties at Woods and Meadows. Not sure of #'s there.
Good Luck to all of the youngsters!
Anyone into trap shooting??? Oconomowoc Sportsmans Club is having Wednesday night fun shoots for $5.00 per round!! 6:30pm Check them out at www.oscinc.org
Wern Valley's GREAT CANCER SHOOTOUT is July 29th. Great family fun with a band, tons of prizes and auctions, food, and the famous Bartalotta Fireworks!!
I shot my league last week at Wern at 1pm and the course was set pretty challenging. I shot my worst score of the year, 32. I went back that evening after thinking about it all afternoon and shot another round... scored a 47! Proves to me how much of a player your mental state is when shooting. I was much more determined to shoot better in the afternoon and it showed in my score.
Have a good day!
Pattern grease board.
I shot at the Otter creek gun club (Iowa) . I asked to use the pattern board, fella points it out to me. He mentions it's a grease board. I walk up and it's tinted gray? And it's grease, not paint? They had a tub of grease in front of the board and the grease is tinted gray? I asked a couple guys that worked there and nobody knows how/what the owners used or does to tint grease a color. Fella did mention the owner has even tinted it other colors? Anyone else see this or how/what to use to do it?
Hey Grizzly. Thanks again! She loves the gun. Gave it to her last Saturday, I ran a handful of 3" through it and handed it off to her. She put 25 light trap loads through, cycled them with no problem. Works great, looks great, broke it down and cleaned it. I'm extremely happy with it. First thought I had was, it was a throw away. Get her started and hooked, then move her into something better. But I think we will run it for a couple seasons and see how it goes.
