So who has been out shooting? What do you like and why? Post some scores!! Are leagues worth it or should a shooter just go out for fun? Lets get a forum going and maybe get together and shoot!!

I drove by Wern Valley a couple times today and I was wondering what was going on during their off hours. Makes sense now. You shoot summer league at Wern??? So do I!! I’ll probably be shooting my round Thursday during the lunch hour. I used to shoot after work but it is getting way too packed. It shouldn’t take 1:45 to shoot that course. Maybe we will brush paths soon.

Back from the charity shoot at Wern Valley . I went 32 for 50 . Couple stations I went 4 for 4 . 2  I went 0 for 4 . Shot with my 870 20 gauge with modified choke . Later on however I found out it was served for a charity shoot not league , so it was a bit easier  . Rest of my squad had o/u or autos so pump did not help any . But I had a great time  .

I think a 28 Guage would be fun . If o/u or auto would be great .

I've been contemplating shooting sporting clays with a 28ga. I am no expert and I am far from perfect with my league shoots but I see a challenge and I kinda want to go for it. Any words of wisdom??

Doing the charity shoot today  . Trying the sporting clays  with the 20 gauge for the first time  .

Shot this past weekend and emptied 700 shells. On Saturday and Sunday, I won my yardage group in handicap and ended up paying $60 to shoot all weekend when figuring in my winnings. I didn't win on the one option I played each day.

Tim, congrats and keep up the great shooting!!

One Shot, keep practicing! 80% vision in the primary eye is difficult to work with. Just like riding a bike they say!!

1fowl one, Thank you for your insight. I appreciate it! Congrats to the kiddos and their success. Proud papa moments!! Gotta love em.

Grizz,

MULLIGANS!? LOL! No, I have never heard of anyone ever using one. But it wouldn't surprise me if some gun clubs allow it to happen. I get irritated with some clubs, allowing some leagues, to reshoot scores. Or, some guys and clubs calling two, say, 25 straights on a leauge score, a week apart, a 50 straight. Especially when they're practicing in between. I feel it takes the true value of a "straight" away.

My daughter and son shot their first Invitational competition last weekend. Son (13) shot a 95 took 1st and daughter (10) a 71 took 2nd in their age groups.

Wife and I are shooting the couples league again. Need to dial in quick if we want to win this year. Couple good teams shooting.

First time shooting trap in 8 months or so . Only managed 13/25 with the 20 gauge . Guess I will need more practice before the charity shoot .  Only 80% vision in dominant eye may figure into it  ??

Today, when it counted, I registered a 92 in doubles. Best score in quite a while.
