Selling a Gun

I recently won a Benelli Nova 12 gauge that I don't really have any use for. I thought I would bring it to Cabelas to sell it. It is new in the box and they offered me only slightly more than half of what they were selling the same gun for new so I told them I'd keep it. They told me I should have no problem getting $100 more of I sold it myself. Where is a good place to list this gun to move it quickly and maximize the amount I can get for it?

From my experience, I wouldn't recommend the Trading Post. I have sold an item or two on there but I usually pulled items off after the same clowns repeatedly emailed me with lowball offers. It was comical at times.
For a gun, I'd recommend Gunbroker.com. You'll need to find a local FFL holder to aid with the transaction but you'll get a lot more for your gun.

They're right. Even though the gun is new in the box, it has been sold to you. So that makes it a used gun, regardless of how much it's been used. And that devalues the gun to any dealer.
So yes, sell it privately, you'll get more for it.
