You can run a Spin 'n' Glo clean (nothing added but a hook) or put it in front of fly. The larger sizes (1-1/4" Diameter) are generally run clean. The smaller 3/4" 1/2" diameters run well in front of a 3-1/2" long fly.

usually theres some tinsel or a short fly behind the cork, you can also try a plastic like a gulp minnow or twister tail, idk if it matters or not they are mostly keying in on the flashy spinning orb any who.

On youtube their using Coon Shrimp. I've never used them either.
